The country’s constitution mandates that a minimum of 60% of its total land area must be maintained as forest.

It’s essential to note that while Bhutan is often highlighted for its efforts, other countries are also actively working to reduce carbon emissions and transition to more sustainable practices. Some countries with relatively low per capita carbon emissions and strong commitments to renewable energy include Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and New Zealand.
